These squads are designed for junior swimmers within the club who wish to learn how to train for competition and would be expected to represent the club when selected at County, District and National level.
Junior squad members would be expected to commit to a training program that would involve training 3 times per week minimum. Emphasis would be on learning to train, building of base aerobic fitness and improvement on skills base. Introduction of principles such as warming up, stretching, swimming down would also be included.
The swimmers would be expected to move on to either National Squad or Development Squad depending on their level of commitment and motivation.
