Pre- Squads

Pre-squad 1

The swimmer will be introduced to lane swimming and will continue skill development. Pre squad 1 would be expected to swim once per week.

Concentration on correct stroke technique is a must for this group, plus introduction of tumble turns, competitive starts and use of pull buoys, floats and fins as training aids.

Pre-squad 2

This squad sees further continuation of the transition  to lane swimming, building on base fitness, correction of stroke faults, more emphasis on turns and starts, use of pull buoys, fins and kick boards. Slightly more intensive than the pre-squad 1 program to slowly build towards the fitness levels required to move forward.  2 sessions per week are expected from the swimmer.
