Waterpolo Achievements (recent past and present)

“Devon County Selection for Barnstaple Waterpolo Players”

Following a recent County Selection process, 6 of Barnstaple’s gifted Waterpolo players were selected to represent Devon in the 2016 South West Inter County Waterpolo Tournaments, held on Sunday 11th December and Sunday 18th December. 

3 players (Jake Greening, Sam Allix & Jack Whittaker) represented the 12 years & under mixed Devon County team, who were crowned South West Inter County Champions, remaining undefeated in their 4 matches at Millfield School. Alice Dodds was selected for the 16 years and under Devon girls team and Bob Whittaker was selected for the 16 years and under Devon boys team, both of those teams came second in their respective competitions. Tyler Weatherley was selected to represent Devon in the 14 years & under mixed team and this competition is taking place on the weekend of 18th December.

Under 19s Waterpolo Team

 

Three members of Barnstaple Swimming Club’s Water Polo Team recently represented Devon at the Under 14 championships in Manchester.
Bob Whittaker, Florence Moore and Millie Wordley were all selected after attending training sessions in Plymouth’s 50m pool.
The Girl’s Team did particularly well being undefeated until coming up against Greater Manchester in the final.   Millie was presented with “Most valuable player” by the GB goalkeeper Robyn Nicholls.
